It’s time to put on a cowboy, or cowgirl hat and dust off those boots, because The Big County Fair is riding into town this month. Kitsap County Fairgrounds will host the annual Kitsap County Fair & Stampede from August 23rd to 27th where locals and visitors are encouraged to take part in the “largest interaction of residents from Kitsap county and the surrounding counties”.
Known by locals as the best fair in the West, this spectacular summer event has been delighting attendees since 1923, when the fair was originally held in Port Orchard. The fair now welcomes over 211,000 visitors annually who come out for a variety of activities. From carnival rides and shows like the “D-derby, Draft Horse Show, monster trucks and more” the fair is a memorable event you won’t want to miss out on.
Watch in awe as the world’s largest and oldest rodeo, Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association - PRCA takes stage for 8 separate events. Events will include bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping and more!
Car and racing enthusiasts alike will enjoy the thrill of watching the vehicle D-Derby. With the “D” standing for demolition, visitors can expect a one of a kind show as drivers compete to be the last car standing. Daily shows will also include cowgirl tricks, comedy hypnosis, exotic animal exhibits, chainsaw woodcarving, and live music from national Country Artist, Daryle Singletary.
