Happy Spring! Here are some of the exciting and interesting events I'm looking forward to this month.
Saturday, May 13, 8am - 5pm: 25th Annual Letter Carriers Food Drive
Leave your donations in your mailbox or nearest Post Office; and have challenged donations to be "Top Ramen Free" - please consider multi-grain pastas, brown rice, low-sodium & low-sugar canned goods.
Saturday, May 13, 8:30am: Trillium Trial Run
The 10k and 5k trail runs start and finish in Battle Point Park (10799 Battle Point Drive) on Bainbridge Island. Collect poker cards along the course for your chance to win prizes! Early Bird registration is active until before midnight on 5/10!
Saturday, May 13, 8pm: Planetarium Show "Jupiter and the Asteroids"
Show will be held at Ritchie Observatory (11299 Arrow Point Drive) and is free for members with $2 suggested donation for nonmembers and $5 for families. Join Astronomer Steve to look at the latest images from the Juno probe. If the sky is clear, astronomers will be on hand with telescopes for public star gazing afterward.
Friday, May 19, 9am - 5pm: FORE! The Animals Golf Tournament
Held at Trophy Lake Golf Course in Port Orchard and all proceeds benefit the Kitsap Humane Society. Must register ahead of time.
Saturday, May 20, 10am - 12pm: Family Workshop: Monotype Printing with Wendy Orville
Join printmaker Wendy Orville to learn about monotypes and how to create your own! Working in both black and white and with color, this family-friendly event will have you experimenting with a variety of mark making tools.
Saturday, May 20, 2pm - 4pm: Upcycle Your Shirts
Space is limited at this Earth-friendly event! Join the Kitsap Regional Library to learn how to turn old shirts into new treasure. Bring 3 or 4 t-shirts in coordinating colors. Registration required.
Wednesday, May 24, 5pm - 9pm: Pints for Pets
Kitsap Humane Society is hosting a happy hour at Sound Brewery in Poulsbo where $1 of every pint purchased will be donated. Kids are welcome!
